[FBT/BT] Business and Technology
– Understand the purpose and types of businesses and how they interact with key stakeholders and the external environment
– Understand business organisation structure, functions and the role of corporate governance
– Recognise the functions, systems and new technologies in accountancy and audit in communicating, reporting and assuring financial information, including the effective compliance, internal control and security of financial and other data
– Recognise the principles of authority and leadership and how teams and individuals are recruited. managed, motivated and developed
– Understand the importance of personal effectiveness as the basis for effective team and organisational behaviour
– Recognise that all aspects of business and finance should be conducted in a manner which complies with and is in the spirit of accepted professional ethics and professional values

[FMA/MA] Management Accounting
– Explain the nature, source and purpose of management information
– Explain and apply cost accounting techniques
– Prepare budgets for planning and control
– Compare actual costs with standard costs and analyse any variances
– Explain and apply performance measurements and monitor business performance

[FFA/FA] Financial Accounting
– Explain the context and purpose of financial reporting
– Define the gualitative characteristics of financial information
– Demonstrate the use of double-entry and accounting systems
– Record transactions and events
– Prepare a trial balance (including identifying and correcting errors)
– Prepare basic financial statements for incorporated and unincorporated entities
– Prepare simple consolidated financial statements
– Interpretation of financial statements

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT/CRITERIA

All students need to attend at least 75% of classes. Student’s Pass holders must maintain an attendance of at least 90% as required by the immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

GRADUATION CRITERIA

To obtain the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4), learners must achieve at least 50% in all three examinations and complete the Foundations in Professionalism module on mACCA, if not already completed in any of the previous leve IS.

MODE OF DELIVERY

Lecture, interactive tutorials, paired or group learning, practical lessons (if applicable) and other interactive activities in line with current best practices.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 4) is a qualification for those planning to work in an accounting role, and those involved in financial reporting, possibly in supervisory roles in accounting departments. This qualification would also be suitable for managers who need a broader knowledge of business organisations and of managing people. Students who are in a technician role in a commercial organisation would also benefit from training that requires examined knowledge to complement their training programme.

RECOGNITION

This course is broadly equivalent to a Certificate of Higher Education in the UK. Please refer to the qualification specifications found on the ACCA website.

AIMS

The course is designed to introduce learners to accounting in business within a political, economical, social, technological, environmental and legal context, all within an ethical framework.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Full-time learners are required to take FBT/BT, FMA/MA and FFA/FA modules at 15 guided learning hours per week. Foundations in Professionalism is to be completed directly through myACCA, if not already competed in any of the previous levels.

ASSESSMENT

Learners will be externally assessed via a Computer Based Examination by ACCA Global.

Applicants must be aged 16 years and above upon commencement.

At least 12 years of education or equivalent.
For local students, 1 GCE A-Level PASS grade or equivalent.

english language / proficiency

Learners who are non-native English speakers AND who have not carried out their final two years of schooling in English must demonstrate an English proficiency equivalent to a PASS in English Language subject at Year 10/GCE O Level/GCSE or Level B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages or PTE Academic 41 or IELTS 5.0 (reading and writing must be at 5.0) or equivalent.

mature candidates

Who are at least 30 years of age with 8 years of working experience upon commencement are welcome to apply.
